40 doctors in Lucknow caught COVID-19 even after taking second vaccine dose

Health40 doctors in Lucknow caught COVID-19 even after taking second vaccine dose

Coronavirus surges in India at 115,736 with new Covid-19 cases, the highest so far.  A new discovery coming to light is there are people who are getting coronavirus even after the second dose.  Forty doctors including VC of KGMU, Lucknow got coronavirus even after taking the second jab!

India’s virus caseload now stands at 1,28,01,785, where there are 8,43,473 active cases and 1,17,92,135 people have recovered from the virus.

The strangest discovery which again baffles medical researchers and doctors is the cases where even after the second jab, people are getting coronavirus.  It was recently recorded that there is a new explosion of coronavirus in Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow.

On Tuesday, the Vice-Chancellor of King George Medical University (KGMU) of Lucknow, Dr. Vipin Puri, and Medical Superintendent Dr. Himanshu Corona were found to be infected with the virus.  Another alarming discovery was 40 other doctors of the institute have also been confirmed to be positive. They discovered that all these doctors infected have taken both doses of the corona vaccine.  Most doctors infected at KGMU had taken the second dose of the vaccine on March 25.

Sources inform the media that 20 doctors have been found infected in the surgery department while 9 doctors in the urology department have been found positive with the coronavirus.

Three doctors have been found infected in the department of critical care medicine. Other medical staff have also been confirmed to be infected.

Also, with the last 24 hours, 5,928 new patients of coronavirus have been confirmed and 30 infected with the virus have died.

Chief Secretary Health Amit Mohan Prasad told reporters on Tuesday that 5,928 new infections have been found in the state in the last 24 hours, after which the total number of cases has increased to 6,39,928. He said that during the same period, after the death of 30 infected, the number of corona infected who lost their lives has increased to 8,924. On Monday, 3,999 cases of COVID-19 were reported.

Amit Mohan Prasad said that the number of patients currently being treated for infections in the state is 27,509. He said that in the last 24 hours, 1,176 patients have been sent home from hospitals after treatment while 6,03,495 patients have been free from infection after treatment.

The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a statement earlier saying:
“We are still learning how well vaccines prevent you from spreading the virus that causes COVID-19 to others, even if you do not have symptoms.

We are also still learning how long COVID-19 vaccines protect people.

We are still learning how many people have to be vaccinated against COVID-19 before most people can be considered protected (population immunity).

We are still learning how effective the vaccines are against new variants of the virus that causes COVID-19.”

The new discoveries of people still getting corona after the second dose has led researchers to raise new questions. This leads people to wonder if the vaccine is really effective.  The vaccine is still in the experimental stages.

All Indian vaccines being developed against the coronavirus have to be stored at 2-8 degrees Celsius otherwise it will lose its efficacy, so many protocols and norms have to be adhered to.
