Saturday, 5 security personnel killed and several others wounded in an encounter with Maoists at a forest in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district.
According to the police, it is also suspected that the Maoists were also killed during the gunshot battle which is still underway.
The gunbattle broke out in the Tarrem area when a joint team of security forces was out on an anti-Maoist operation, Chhattisgarh Director General of Police DM Awasthi told PTI.
While the battle is still presently on, awaiting updates on the incident.
