According to the health official sources, 8,807 more corona cases and 80 deaths were reported from across the state, taking the state’s cumulative case tally to 21,21,119.

Aurangabad: Post the rising number of COVID-19 cases, the Marathwada administration has decided to take some strict measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

According to the health official sources, 701 fresh COVID-19 cases and seven deaths were detected in the region during the past 24 hours.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI show that out of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad district recorded 281 cases and 3 deaths followed by Latur registered 98 new cases and a single death.

Beed had 57 new cases and a single death. Nanded and Parbhani had 55 cases and one death each, Jalna had 117 cases, Hingoli had 27 cases and Osmanabad had 17 cases.

In view of the rising cases, night curfew was imposed in Aurangabad, Hingoli, Latur district of the region.

As per official data, 8,807 more corona cases and 80 deaths were reported from across the state during the past 24 hours, taking the state’s cumulative case tally to 21,21,119.

Meanwhile, 2,772 patients were cured and discharged from hospitals during the same period across the state, taking the total number of recoveries so far in Maharashtra to 20,08,623.

With this, the state’s recovery rate has now risen to 94.70 percent and the death rate stands at 2.45 percent.

According to the health officials, so far, a total of 51,937 patients have succumbed to the disease in the state and more than 59,358 active patients are currently under treatment in Maharashtra.
