Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank met Indian Ambassador to the United States Taranjit Singh Sandhu and wished to cooperate with him for wider publicity in various higher education institutions in the US.
New Delhi: Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Tuesday appealed to the Indian Ambassador to the United States Taranjit Singh Sandhu to discuss the country’s new education policy in detail and give it wide publicity in various US higher education institutions.
Dr. Nishank told Mr. Sindhu here that the Embassy of India could try to organize several seminars/webinars/conferences/workshops etc. in various higher education institutions in the US for wider publicity of National Education Policy 2020 (NEP-2020). Similar arrangements can be made by the Indian Consulate.
Looking for ways to attract American students to India
Dr. Nishank requested Mr. Sindhu to consult with Indian consulates in the United States to find out from various parties what are the expectations of American universities to open their campuses in India, allowing American students to study in India, where they can study. Ways are to be found to attract American students.
The Union Minister also informed the Ambassador that the maximum joint research proposals (74.80 crores) were approved by the United States. He said, “I hope that the Indian embassy in the US will play an important role in the promotion of this scheme.
