A brutal case of gangrape and murder that brings back the horrific memories of the Nirbhaya gang-rape case in Delhi
Badaun: A 50- year old woman was brutally gang-raped and killed on Tuesday in the Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh, police said. According to reports, the woman had visited a temple in a nearby village on Sunday evening and had not returned. The accused left the woman’s body outside her house on Sunday night at around 12 midnight.
According to the police, the incident took place in Mewali village on Sunday evening in Ughaiti police station area. A panel of three doctors, including a lady doctor, performed the post-mortem.
According to the post-mortem report released here on Tuesday, the perpetrators punctured her lungs, broke her legs and ribs besides inserting an iron rod into her private parts.

The report says that the 50 -year-old woman died due to severe blood loss and profound injuries in her private parts. The report also suggests she was bludgeoned by something heavy tool.
Badaun SSP Sankalp Sharma rushed to the site and formed a four-member team to trace the culprit. The SHO of Ughati police station was suspended by the SSP on Wednesday.
The police have registered a murder case against three people in the matter. Police are now on the lookout for the accused Mahant Baba Satyanarayana. His disciple Vedram and driver Jaspal have been arrested.
