There are many tribal groups in the western part of Ethiopia where attackers target the people of those tribes
Addis Ababa: Unidentified gunmen in the western province of Gojam in the eastern African country of Ethiopia. More than 90 people died in the attack.
According to media reports, the assailants attacked Wednesday while people were sleeping in their homes. The National Addis Standard News magazine quoted a witness as saying “People were murdered and their homes and looted.”
Another witness said that residents of the area had reported the attack to the police, but the attackers had fled when police reached the spot.
Significantly, there are many tribal groups in the western part of Ethiopia. The attackers here target members of the tribal community. The Human Rights Commission of Ethiopia has confirmed the attack and demanded an investigation.
