Mumbai: Former Indian batsman Suresh Raina has been arrested near the Mumbai airport for violating Coronavirus guidelines. He was later released.
Police raided a club in Mumbai after which 34 people, including Suresh Raina and popular singer Guru Randhawa, were arrested for violating the Covid guidelines. A senior Sahir police station area police officer said Raina and Randhawa were among those who violated the guidelines related to Covid-19. However, the accused were later released on bail.
Mumbai Police said 34 accused, including Raina, have been arrested under sections 188, 269, and global epidemic. The arrests were made at the DragonFly pub, where Covid’s guidelines were violated.
It is clear that the Maharashtra government decided to impose a nighttime curfew on Monday to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. In view of the new year, the state government has implemented several restrictions in Mumbai from 22 December to 5 January.
