RSS claimed that the meeting was a goodwill gesture; no statement yet made by Ex-DGP Naparajit Mukherjee.
Kolkata: Former West Bengal DGP Naparajit Mukherjee met RSS chief Mohan Bhagat in Kolkata on Sunday. Since then, speculations have intensified in the political circles.
Mohan Bhagwat was on a two-day visit to West Bengal. He met Mukherjee at the party office Keshab Bhavan in Kolkata. The RSS claimed that the meeting was a goodwill gesture. On the other hand, no statement has been made by Naparajit Mukherjee.
According to sources, Mohan Bhagat was to visit Naparajit Mukherjee’s house on Sunday evening. But the former DGP himself went to meet the RSS chief. When he was entering Keshav Bhavan, Naparajit Mukherjee had some files in his hand at that time.
According to sources, the meeting between Bhagat and Naparjeet continued for at least an hour. However, it is not clear what happened during the meeting between the two.
Bhagat reached Kolkata on a two-day visit on Saturday. On Sunday, he visited the home of artist Tejendra Narayan Majumdar. Tejendra Narayan said that he was present at his house for about two hours. There he enjoyed classical music. However, he may come back to Kolkata once again before the assembly elections.
