Pratapgarh: In Kandhai area of Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh, a high-speed Bolero hit a tree, killing 5 people including a soldier.
Additional Superintendent of Police (East) Srinivas Prasad Dwivedi said that the incident occurred near Pipri Khalsa village on Sunday night when constable Sanjeev Yadav and his relatives were returning from the engagement ceremony.
Bolero hit a tree at high speed due to dense fog. The collision was so severe that all the occupants were trapped in the vehicle.
The Superintendent of Police said that the injured were rushed to the district hospital, where doctors declared 5 people, including Sanjeev, dead. All the victims were residents of Khajuri village in the police station area, returning from Patti area after the engagement of Constable Sanjeev Yadav.
Sanjeev was posted in Mao district who came home on leave for engagement. Mr. Dwivedi said that the other 4 people killed in the accident are being identified.
