LONDON: Police on Saturday arrested 60 protesters protesting against a government-imposed lockdown in the capital London in order to prevent the spread of the global pandemic Coronavirus.
Hundreds of people gathered on the streets in central London to protest and during this, some people also clashed with police personnel.
The London Police said: ‘Police have arrested more than 60 people for gathering in groups in London today. The arrests were made for various offenses, including violations of the Coronavirus restrictions. The number of people arrested may increase and we appeal to people to return to their homes.
