Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi expressed happiness over Joe Biden being elected as US president and Kamala Harris being elected first female Vice President

New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi and former President Rahul Gandhi have heartily congratulated Mr. Joe Biden on being elected as the 46th President of the United States.

Mrs. Gandhi expressed happiness over Mr. Joe Biden being elected as US president as well as Mrs. Kamala Harris being elected first female Vice President and heartily congratulated her for this.

Mr. Rahul Gandhi said that he hoped that under the leadership of Mr. Biden and Mrs. Harris, relations between the United States and India would deepen and a new direction would be given to peace and development in our region as well as in the world.

He took on Twitter and said, Congratulations, Vice-President-elect @KamalaHarris! It makes us proud that the first woman to serve as Vice President of the USA traces her roots to India.”

Mr. Rahul Gandhi said that he is confident that America will become stronger under Mr. Biden’s leadership. He described Mrs. Harris as America’s first female vice-president, a matter of pride, and expressed confidence that relations between India and the United States would rise to new heights during her tenure.
